#3 Demographics in Taiwan: North Americans (Mostly Americans) in 2017

Quite a few people were asking me to post the figures for Americans living in Taiwan in 2017 and I have added on the rest of North Americans in Taiwan.

  1. Not surprisingly, Americans are the largest group from North America, following by Canada, Mexico and Haiti.
  2. Out of 12,291 North Americans, 9,855 (80.2%) were American, followed by 2,103 (17.1%) Canadians.

North America

Men Women Total
Canada 1,480 623 2,103
Haiti 108 30 138
Mexico 122 76 195
USA 6,915 2,940 9,855
Total: 8,625 3,669 12,291

When looking at the gender difference, 70% of this demographic is male, while 29.8% are women. This is similar to the European demographics of 73% male and 27% female.
