Quite a few people were asking me to post the figures for Americans living in Taiwan in 2017 and I have added on the rest of North Americans in Taiwan.
- Not surprisingly, Americans are the largest group from North America, following by Canada, Mexico and Haiti.
- Out of 12,291 North Americans, 9,855 (80.2%) were American, followed by 2,103 (17.1%) Canadians.
Men | Women | Total | |
Canada | 1,480 | 623 | 2,103 |
Haiti | 108 | 30 | 138 |
Mexico | 122 | 76 | 195 |
USA | 6,915 | 2,940 | 9,855 |
Total: | 8,625 | 3,669 | 12,291 |
When looking at the gender difference, 70% of this demographic is male, while 29.8% are women. This is similar to the European demographics of 73% male and 27% female.
When broken down further, the gender difference between countries is as follows:
- Haiti – 78% Male / 22% Female
- Canada – 70.3% Male / 29.7 Female
- America – 70.1% Male / 29.9% Female
- Mexico – 62% Male / 38% Female
